Introduction to Statistical Modeling
نویسنده
چکیده
This lab is about two topics in modeling. Interaction refers to a particular way of structuring models; it is a concept that applies to a wide variety of models. Logistic Regression is a form of nonlinear modeling that is particularly useful when the response variable is binomial, e.g., yes or no, alive or dead, success or failure. The two concepts are brought together in this lab only because we want to cover both of them in the course and in part to show how interaction applies both in linear modelling and nonlinear modelling.

Modeling and Non-modeling Genre-based Approach to Writing Argument-led Introduction Paragraphs: A Case of English Students in Iran
Despite the crucial role of introductory sections in argumentative academic writing, the effects of genre- based approaches to writing introductory paragraphs have not been much explored yet. The present study aimed to investigate whether the provision of genre knowledge through modeling and non-modeling could enhance learners’ ability in writing introductory paragraphs of argumentative essays....

متن کاملStructural Equation Modeling (SEM) in Health Sciences Education Researches: An Overview of the Method and Its Application
Introduction: There are many situations through which researchers of human sciences particularly in health sciences education attempt to assess relationships of variables. Moreover researchers may be willing to assess overall fit of theoretical models with the data emerged from the study population. This review introduces the structural equation models method and its application in health scien...
متن کاملNew Statistical and Econometric Approaches to Assessing Financial Processes (Banking Sector, Public Debt, Financial Management)
The results of studies on the development of new statistical and econometric approaches to modeling budget policy is presented. The obtained results are applied on the example of tax revenue modeling. The authors note the importance of ensuring transparency and predictability of state financial policy, the realisticness of economic forecasts, because this is the basis of budget modeling. It is ...
متن کاملStructural Equation Modeling for Travel Behavior Research
Structural equation modeling (SEM) is an extremely flexible linear-in-parameters multivariate statistical modeling technique. It has been used in modeling travel behavior and values since about 1980, and its use is rapidly accelerating, partially due to the availability of improved software. The number of published studies, now known to be more than fifty, has approximately doubled in the past ...
